What is included in the Manpower GED program?

No.  Manpower is sponsoring the cost of the program for associates who meet the eligibility criteria.  Once approved, you can pursue your GED® credential at no cost.

Does it cost me anything to take part in this program?

I, [EMPLOYEE], confirm that I would like to take part in the voluntary Manpower GED Program in which I will have the opportunity to take part in courses for purposes of earning my GED.   As part of my participation in this program, I understand that:

Participation in this program is completely voluntary and is not required as part of employment with [MANPOWER FRANCHISE LEGAL ENTITY NAME]. The decision whether to take these courses or not will not positively or negatively affect any evaluation of performance in my current job.

• Time spent attending these courses, and any related out of class coursework will not paid.
• The course training is online, so I understand I must have regular access to a computer and the internet to take part in the program.
• I must complete my course and related coursework outside of my regular working hours.
• No work related to my current job can be performed while I am working on coursework related to the Manpower GED Program.
• I understand that taking courses does not guarantee that I will obtain a higher level/paying position or a position in the field of study.
• I understand that I must follow all the guidelines for this program as established by Manpower and its third-party partners.

In addition, I authorize [MANPOWER FRANCHISE LEGAL ENTITY NAME] to release to its third-party partner, Pearson Education, Inc., the following information for purposes of my involvement in the Manpower GED Program:

By signing this consent form, I understand that the information described herein may be disclosed to Pearson Education, Inc., and that to the extent applicable, the information described herein may no longer be protected by Federal or State privacy laws and may be subject to re-disclosure.

I understand and agree that a photocopy of the original of this Acknowledgement and Authorization shall have the same effect as an original.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AND AUTHORIZATION FOR RELEASE OF INFORMATION

The four subject areas covered in GED® tests are Social Studies, Science, Mathematical Reasoning, and Reasoning Through Language Arts.

What are the four subjects in the GED program?

Eligible associates will need to have regular access to a phone, computer and the Internet, which Manpower does not provide, to fully take part in the program.

What tools or technology do I need to have to be successful in this program?

Associates eligible to take part in this program must:
1. Agree to, sign, and date the Manpower acknowledgement form as part of the inquiry process;
2. Not have a GED® or high-school diploma;
3. Be on a current contract through a participating Manpower office assigned to a role which does not specify you need a GED® or high-school diploma.

Who is eligible to enroll in the Manpower GED program?

Enroll here and sign Manpower’s acknowledgement form.  If you are eligible for the program, you will receive an email with instructions on how to create your student account and begin the program.

How do I enroll?

Yes.  A GED® credential documents that you have high school-level academic skills.  Most U.S. employers, colleges and universities recognize and accept a GED® credential as equal to a traditional high school diploma.

Is the GED like a high-school diploma?

•Earning your GED® provides an opportunity to continue your education: Over 98 percent of U.S. colleges and universities accept GED® graduates who meet their other qualifications for admission. 
•Earning your GED® prepares you for new job opportunities: A GED® credential documents that you have high school-level academic skills.  Most U.S. employers accept the GED® credential as equal to a traditional high school diploma.
•You can earn your GED® credential more quickly than other high-school equivalency programs:  On average, students who take part in Pearson’s program graduate in less than 3 months!  Other high school equivalency programs can take up to 15 months to complete.

Why should I get a GED?

Pearson’s program is designed for working adult learners who may not have had the opportunity to finish high school.  Anyone who is at least 16 years old and is not enrolled in high school is eligible to pursue a GED® according to GED Testing Service policy.  Each state has its own policy that may restrict eligibility to certain individuals, which can be viewed here.

How is the GED different than finishing high school?

All costs associated with the Manpower GED program (except for phone, computer and Internet-related costs) are covered by Manpower throughout the period of time you remain eligible to participate if you successfully establish your GED student account and follow all program and advisor guidelines.  

Do I pay out-of-pocket, or does the company pay on my behalf?

Yes.  Pearson’s program is designed to be an online, self-study program.  However, if needed, your GED® Advisor can help find other study options like print or Spanish curriculum or in-person classes available to you.

Is the program online?

Yes.  If needed, you can choose to take part in the program in Spanish.  By selecting the Spanish program, you will receive Spanish study materials and tests sent directly to your home.  Your GED® Advisor will also be fluent in Spanish.

Is this program available in Spanish?

Your advisor will work with you to customize a learning plan, but most students are able to complete their testing and receive a GED® Certificate within 1 to 3 months.

How long does this program take?

Your advisor will email or call you weekly to check in on your progress and offer you support as needed.  It is important to keep an active phone number and email address on file within your account, and to check your email regularly while you are enrolled.

How will my advisor contact me?

GED® certificates are recognized in all U.S. states and territories as an equivalent to a high school diploma. Once you have completed the program, keep a copy of your certificate for your records and add this achievement to your résumé and career profile on manpower.com!

How and where can I use the GED Certification after I complete the Program?

Some franchised Manpower locations are not participating at this time.
